When you initially met someone like Julian Bleeker, nothing about him screams out “Renaissance Man”. A physical lesson in how one should never attempt to judge a book by it’s cover. To say that this man stays busy is a complete understatement..
In addition to being one of the founders of the Omata brand, he’s also an artist and noted researcher in the field of mobile computing technology, pervasive networks and near field interaction systems…. I won’t even pretend to know what any of that means, but it sounds very influential and important. Regardless, when he’s not conquering the world via the subject of “mad-scientry’ (yeah that’s a term I just made real) Julian’s an avid cyclist. Riding almost daily…Hence the catalyst behind Omata. It’s a GPS system for cycle enthusiasts that harkens back to the time of analog days. — He was a pleasure to photograph and work with. It probably won’t be the last time we collaborate. After all I love guys like him. We talked for hours about music and film……the culture of cycling. Oh and did I also mention that Julian’s an avid photographer as well?!… Basically, I came away from the shoot feeling like I only use 30 percent of my brain capacity and 100 percent inspired to do even more with my life. Shout out to Julian Bleeker for showing me that there’s no time for any excuses.
